Aramis aka Scruffes aka Squigward

First off I do not watch Sponge Bob. I just know that there is a character on the show named Squigward. And why, you ask do I call Aramis, Squigward? Well, when my kids (you know my son and his wife are adopting Aramis) told me they were going to name him Scruffles, I couldn’t remember his name half the time. I kept thinking “Squiggles” or something like that. Which made me think of Squigward. Hence, his “nickname”. I think it’s cute actually. They could call him Squiggles for short. 😉 hehe

Anyways, Athos and Porthos went home today with their very excited and happy families.

I get attached to these little critters, but honestly this is the best day for me, the puppies and the families! 😀

So back to Squigward 😉 ahem…I mean Scruffles. Scruffles is still here with me. I’m still trying to figure out how to get him home to my kids in CO.

I was going to ship him, but we’re having a hard time finding a day that will work for my son to pick him up. He gets weekends off, but I won’t ship puppies on Saturday and cargo isn’t open on Sunday. I’ve never had an issue flying a pup through cargo, but I’d rather he fly “in cabin” anyways. (For those of you scratching your head because our website states I no longer ship puppies through cargo; I don’t. But since it’s my son I can get away with it.

My son usually gets another day off during the week, but lots of times even on his day off he starts being “on call” in the evening. Which means the pup would have to get there earlier in the afternoon. And that’s not always possible because there’s only so many flights from here to there.

I’ve asked him if somebody else could pick the pup up for him. But since they are very new to the area, they really don’t know a lot of people. And my daughter-in-law doesn’t have her driver’s license yet. (She’s only been in the U.S. about a year).

I even considered flying there myself and taking the puppy in cabin. But I chickened out. The whole maneuvering through the airport process makes me nervous. And flying isn’t my favorite mode of  transportation anyways. I was in a plane wreck once (but that’s another story). And in case you’re wondering, yes, I did survive. 😉

So until we figure out something that works for everybody, the boy is still here “in training”. Hmmm….maybe I can get him to do the next blog post.

Come on now, Aramis…you gotta earn your keep, cutie. Draft a blog post, tutor the young pups, shovel some snow. Everyone pitches in at Pinewood :).
