Out and About

Saturday afternoon was kind of quiet. Hubby was off hiking with his buddy, so I had time to go visiting.

Bialy and I loaded up in the truck and set out. My first stop was to introduce her to the mighty Columbia River. Although it doesn’t look to mighty right now. The river had been down low for some time so the plants started to grow. Then they raised the water level; which didn’t leave us much beach to walk on. But at least she got to experience it.

Then we headed to town to visit our local fire department.

And my favorite EMT/firefighter. 😉

Don’t you think she’d make an adorable fire dog?

There’s definitely a family resemblance (with him, not the dog)😜

Next, we went for a drive and ended up at a friend’s house for a nice visit.

Bialy was entertained by the chickens.

So was I.  These two perched right here while my friend and I chatted. It was a nice afternoon. 😊

What a beautiful day! We have chickens and I have been told that they peck at shiney things (i.e. Puppy eyeballs). How did your friend get her chickens comfortable with the dogs? 🙂 thank you!!!

    • Hmm…never had my chickens go after my puppies before. Her chickens just hung out with us, no special training. 🙂 She does have dogs herself thought, so the chickens are probably use to being around them.

Is it ok to go to the columbia river? No worry about Giardia

    • A dog could possibly get giardia from the river, or a mud puddle for that matter. There are many hazards in the world, but we can’t have them live in a bubble:) I think the benefits of getting out and experiencing new things outweigh the risks involved. Thanks for the concern though 🙂
