I’ve debated about this

You guys know I’m pretty much an open book and share pretty much everything with you. I want you to know us, our dogs and what goes on here with “your” puppies and parents.

We (almost) daily share puppy fun, growth, and enrichment. We share gross poop stories (hey, it’s a part of life!), and we share losses when something doesn’t go right during delivery or after.

But I really have debating sharing this. I really did. I’m still not sure it’s a good idea. I wrote this weeks ago and parked it in “drafts”.

I hate sharing bad stuff. I’m not looking for sympathy, I know I have your care and concern. You’ve shared your love so many times!

But I know there are lots of you that are daily followers and you know each and every one of my dogs and that I should share this with you as hard as it is. And also with our current litter from Sky and Justice and our next upcoming litter from Amber (Allie’s daughter) and Justice, it makes it more relevant (because I might want to keep one.)

We have lost two very precious canine family members. One was heartbreaking, but losing the second one less than two weeks later to a freak accident was absolutely gutwrenching. Part of me still finds it hard to believe that they’re both gone. Time makes it not as raw and painful. I don’t want to go into details as it just brings back the awful memories of those two days (neither died because of health issues that would affect their puppies if anyone is worried about that.)

allie4.15RIP My beautiful Allie Mashelle May aka “Allie-girl” (May 9, 2012-August 17 2019) I miss your happy little play bow and “crouch-down” you would do waiting for me to pick you up and love you. Your crate is quiet now with no one to sass every dog that would walk by it at bedtime.

You came to us a scared young adult (I think we were the fourth owners!) and slowly learned to trust us. I was looking forward to you having a leisurely retirement with us. You gave us some of the most beautiful babies with your favorite “man” Dickens.

My handsome, sweet  Justice! I miss you so much and it’s not fair how you were taken from me so tragically and so young. You had your whole life ahead of you! I can’t believe you’re gone forever.

You were almost always the first one in your crate for dinner each night and the first crate I’d open in the morning to excitedly let outside. I miss you hopping up on the blue barrel for attention every time I’d walk by. You did so well in your obedience class and easily passed that and your CGC test. And you were starting to father some beautiful puppies.

Pinewoods Law And Order CGC aka “Justice” (son of Dickens, big brother to Hope, Joy, Gracie, Smudgie, Mercy, and Glory). (December 21, 2016-August 20, 2019)

Farewell.

All of us who love our little ones so dearly can’t help but dread such terrible losses. All we can do is remember the joys, and know that somewhere out there a new one needs us.When we lost our first 4-footer at 17 years, I had a powerful dream – so clear it seemed real – of his body totally restored to health, running and jumping alongside me over beautiful green hills. Sounds crazy, but then I knew he was OK; we were the only ones suffering. Wishing Justice and Allie fields of green to frolic in…

When we lose someone we love it’s comforting to know that they knew we loved them each and every day. Your sweet pups enjoyed their lives with you and although they didn’t get to be with you as long as you would have liked you won’t forget them and they live on in memories and the lives of their puppies. I’m sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing the story because it shows how much you love your dogs. God bless you all.
