I’m so happy to introduce our newest litter from sweet Amber and handsome Dickens!
Amber is so much like her mom Allie. There’s not a lot of fuss or noise, barely any nesting, just quietly getting down to business and getting things done. The only thing I can “fault” her on is she doesn’t break the sac quick enough for me! So I play “hover mother” and make sure each puppy gets out of its sac okay, the airway is cleared and it’s breathing well, I dry it off and check it over then let mom have a chance to clean, lick and do her mothering.
She (thankfully) had all the pups in the daytime, starting in the morning around seven-ish and ending with the last puppy just after noon. Yeah, for daytime deliveries!
All of the puppies were fat and healthy and great weights; no tiny ones to worry about and only one big chunky, monkey! Puppies mostly in the eight ounce-range except for the big guy weighing in around ten ounces!
They are all beautiful shades of apricot like their mom. We have three boys and two girls!
