We sure are enjoying the antics of little Blaze and his mom, Sasha! I just can’t believe he is five weeks old today. How do these weeks pass so quickly?!
We still have them set up in the small puppy pen in the living room as their home “base”. But little Blaze has learned how to crawl out of the pen and play with mom and “aunties” Lyric and Hope in the living room.
Figuring out how to get out of the puppy pen. (It’s over a 7″ drop).
He’s using his litter box really well and nibbling on mom’s food although mom’s milk is still his first choice to snack on. He’s playing with toys and starting to complain when I put him back in his pen. Within the next few days, I’ll introduce him to the regular litter box with pellets. And probably soon after I’ll move him and mom into the big puppy pen upstairs and introduce him to a crate to sleep in.
I’ve carried him outside a couple times to enjoy the fresh air and see and hear some new things. But this morning he got to do some exploring outside too. And the grass was a bit wet and it started to sprinkle while we were out there. He didn’t mind a bit and see so excited to experience this big, new world around him. Mom and (very pregnant, Lyric) were out for potty breaks so we didn’t stay out long.
And here he is for his official five-week “portrait”.
He got his toenail trim again, we practiced more exposure to the hair dryer and small clippers and fitted him with his first collar, which he promptly scratched and scratched at. Oh, and he’s now a solid 4+ lbs!❤️
