So now that Rosie and Lucy’s puppies have gone to their forever homes, you probably think I have a lot of free time. Not really.
I was going to say, first we’ll wait for Flower and Treasure’s litters to arrive, but (*whispers) want to know a secret? They both are done! (I didn’t get much sleep again last night 😉 )
But, if you’ve known me very long, you know I’m going to hold out on you for a few days. I like to make sure everything is going well with mom and babies and that babies are gaining weight nicely before I divulge the details. So hang tight!
And remember a couple posts ago when I said that Flower’s litter would be Noah’s last batch of puppies? Well…..change of plans. I’ve talked to my vet and we’re going to try a half-neuter (today). She will remove the infected testicle and leave the normal one. (Although this may change if she gets into surgery and thinks they both need to go). And the reason I decided to do this was the recent litter he had with Flower. I have to say it was probably one of the most uniquely marked and colorful litters we’ve ever had. And I just hated the thought of him never siring anything that gorgeous again! I’ll keep everyone posted on how his surgery goes today.
So now that both litters have arrived, things with the mom’s and new pups are fairly easy/quiet for the first few weeks.
Which gives me time to build a solid foundation with my Lucy pup, Rainy (now called Sage). And also do more training with my young Poodles and some obedience training on some young adults that I’ve been wanting to do. And finish grooming the adults that I haven’t gotten done yet.
So, you see I’m still busy, just a different busy. 😀
