Observations

Okay, here are some more adorable playtime pictures for you to enjoy and my observations. Granted we’re talking about 4-4.5 week old puppies so these are just observations of what I’m currently seeing and things can change.

Within each litter we usually have one or two that are the most adventurous, first ones to step out and explore, tail-wagging, in your face fun puppies. On the other end of the spectrum might be one or two that like to chill and observe before they dive in to something new. And the rest will be somewhere in the middle of those.

Our merles seem to be the “bookends”. Blizzard definitely seems to be our most adventurous pup and is going to be a lot of fun! Frost is the quiet one who likes to observe and wait before diving into the fun. 😉 Snowflake is just a bit “above’ Blizzard in the quieter department. The other guys; Storm and Flurry would be in between. One day it seems Storm is almost as outgoing as Blizzard (or a notch below) and the next time Flurry trades places with him. But by eight weeks of age, they will all be playful, wiggly, energetic little fur balls!

Because of parent sizes, I’m guessing they will fall somewhere in the average Cavapoo range as adults; 15-20 lbs. Frost is the biggest, so I’m “guessing” he’ll be in that range. Snowflake is the smallest build of the group, so she could end up a bit smaller than 15 lbs.

As for eye color, from what I can see at this age; Frost has mostly brown eyes with it looks like a little speck of blue in the left one. Blizzard’s right eye looks brown and the left looks partially blue. Flurry is our bluest, his right eye is mostly blue and his left is partially blue. Snowflake looks like she’s got a bit of blue in each eye. And Storm will be our brown eyed boy.

What I’ve found with our F1b litters is about 30% will have the curlier Poodle-type coat and the other 70% will have a wavy coat like an F1. But since Winter has a really nice curly coat (for an F1 Cavapoo) and Bonus has a wonderful curly Poodle coat, for the first time it seems we “might” have a litter of all curly puppies!

Hopefully all this information is helpful for those families getting ready to get matched with an adorable Cavapoo!❤️
