I really hate good-byes, especially with my adults. When you raise a dog from puppyhood (especially the planning starts even before the litter is born; matching which parents to put together) you get very attached and invested in that dog. But ultimately, I have to do what’s best for the dog. And though it’s hard for me to let them go and it’s an adjustment for the adult, this is the best life for them. I mean who wouldn’t want to be the center of someone’s world, got for walks, get treats, snuggle on the couch, go for adventures, and be reunited with your daughter.
Yep, Sage’s new owners have a connection. Their daughter has one of Sage’s puppies! She was Fennel from our herb litter. So Sage will be reunited with her daughter (they live very near each other) and can have adventures together. Now that’s a happy ending.
Sage was our first Cavapoo that we decided to keep from a litter to add to our breeding program and start producing F1b Cavapoos. So she’s extra special.

Yep, same dog but different ages and hair lengths😍
And I love the commitment and sacrifice this family has already made for Sage. They flew here from two states away and instead of trying to fly home with Sage (which might have been more traumatic since Sage has never flown), they rented a car and took two days to drive back home with her so Sage would be more comfortable.

Happy retirement, my girl ❤️
