Fun and family on the fourth!

Our kiddos in the Spokane area invited us to their place for Independence Day. Of course,  we wanted to go, but didn’t want to leave the babies home by themselves all day. And my regular puppy sitter was unavailable. So I asked if they wouldn’t mind if we brought three bounciest babies with us. My DIL was especially up for some puppy cuddles!

So last Thursday morning after all the chores were done and food finished and packed, we loaded the puppies and all their gear. My hubby reminded me of years ago when we would travel with three kids and all the stuff we had to pack and bring; same feeling. 😉

The puppies were perfect for the car ride down. In fact, they couldn’t have been more perfect the entire day!I put Daisy in a separate crate in case she got carsick. Thankfully she didn’t. I did give her a low dose of Dramamine so that must’ve helped.

Our kiddos live in a gaited community and their back yard is yet to be fenced. But in that situation, I’m not so worried about things like Parvo since there aren’t stray dogs and such wandering through their yard or community.

So we set up a couple exercise pens down on the back lawn. Then we set up a couple more on their balcony off the main floor of the house. I did put a litter box in there, just in case. But most of the time they went downstairs to the grass area to potty. In their area I put their water, bed and some toys to keep them occupied. They got to meet “Aunt” Rousey too. Bully sticks kept them happy.

It worked out great as we sat out their to enjoy our 4th of July picnic. Then later we went down on the lawn to enjoy so croquet and corn hole and the pups joined us there too.

Later the neighbors kids across the street spotted the puppies so they can to visit. The puppies got lots of love, attention and socializing that day!

We left late in the evening and headed home. But before we reached home we decided to drive down to the local fireworks show in our town. We only stayed a few minutes because it was late and we’d all had a full day. But as we sat in the field in our truck watching the fireworks exploding overhead, the puppies quietly hung out in the back seat, completely unperturbed by the noise and lights of the fireworks exploding around us. The perfect ending to an amazing day!❤️
