Growing up!

How is it even possible that Winter’s puppies are six weeks old?! It won’t be long and they’ll be ready to head out to their new homes to live with their forever families.

Today was busy with all the puppy activities to do on six puppies.

They slept without mom last night and then this morning ate breakfast together in a crate while I cleaned litter boxes. Mom is letting me know she is ready to wean puppies. She still loves them and lets’ them nurse, but she wants more and more time away from them. Which of course, is totally normal for this age. It’s so nice when a mom helps with the weaning process naturally.

They all got weighed, their toenails trimmed, I changed the parachord collars to real buckle collars (with quick-release buckles), they stood on the table to be brushed and handled and their hairy faces trimmed a bit (just around the eyes)  and got their first taste of cheese!

Then I hauled them downstairs in the big laundry basket for pictures. That’s a heavy laundry basket!

And then we went on a grand adventure! But I’ll save that story for tomorrow. 😉
