What would life be like if we weren’t always learning and growing? And of course, I’m always interested in learning how to make my dogs’ lives better. Whether it be enrichment activities, walks and exploring the great outdoors, minimizing toxins in their lives or improving what goes into and onto their bodies.
So as many of you know I like to add some fresh food to their kibble to improve it and add more fresh and healthy nutrients to it.
And I’ve said this many times, if I had the time, money and space they would be off kibble and on a species appropriate fresh food. I’m honing in on one to try someday when finances allow. I’ll share more later.
I try to mix up a batch of something each week to add to their dinners. Some nights they just get kibble. Some nights their might get sardines (packed in water only) added. Some nights a bit of Kefir or fermented veggies, or it might be a chicken foot to chew up or a raw chicken wing or drumstick (never feed cooked bones!). They love when they get anything “extra”.
A couple nights ago I steamed some veggies; red pepper, spinach, broccoli, and carrots. Then I lightly scrambled some farm fresh eggs. I added all to a big bowl, then thawed some organic mixed berries and dumped in some probiotic yogurt. Once I mixed it all together it didn’t look to appetizing, but the dogs slurped it up!
Here’s a video of the process. https://youtube.com/shorts/SQJO_iJT020?si=AOfxxN5Lz2y5ZSjK
Thank you so much for this! I wouldn’t have thought of this combo. Now saved in my “Puppy” folder for when I will be able to give a great home to one (or two) of your puppies!
