Food ideas

If you’ve been following the blog, you know I like to add to my dogs’ dinners to improve their diets. They get a high quality kibble but it’s just not the same as fresh food.

So I thought I’d share some of the things I like to add in case you’d like to know what you can do to improve your dog’s diet!

Veggies; these can be raw if you’re dog will eat them or lightly cooked (this is just a few I’ve used, there are many other veggies that dogs can eat.)

  • Carrots
  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Sweet Peppers
  • Pumpkin

Fruits (Absolutely no grapes or raisins!)

  • Berries; especially blueberries
  • Apple

Foods good for gut health

  • Yogurt
  • Kefir
  • Fermented veggies

Meats, etc

  • Ground turkey
  • Ground beef
  • Sardines (in water, low or not salt if possible)
  • Bone broth (beef or chicken)
  • Eggs

These are all used together or separate as toppers to improve the dogs diets and add more “fresh” food. I’m doing this to improve their kibble diet. I hope to share more soon on a new, improved food that we’ll be trying on our dogs that is completely balanced and fresh.
