HOW TO GET A CAVAPOO PUPPY FROM US

Thanks for your interest in our Cavapoos and for stopping by to learn more about our process!

We’re making a few updates to how we do things so we can better keep up with the times. Traditionally, we’ve kept a waiting list made up of families who submitted an application and an application fee (which goes toward the puppy’s price and shows they’re serious). However, our waitlist hasn’t been very active over the past year or two.

What does that mean?

It means that when we announce a new litter, not many people from the waitlist actually reach out with interest. Some families have been on the list for years and still say they want a puppy, but the timing never seems quite right. Others are repeat buyers who want to add a second dog but aren’t ready yet.

What does this mean for someone like you—new and interested?

Good news: you’ll likely be matched with a puppy fairly quickly!
Of course, we can’t guarantee a specific timeframe since we’re working with living, breathing animals. But in the past, families often waited a year or two before being matched. That’s no longer the case.

About applications and fees

For now, we are not accepting new applications or waitlist fees.
But I’m happy to add you to our interest list, and you can submit your application later. Just call or email me—I’m always happy to chat, answer questions, and walk you through the process.

Why pause the fees? Because we currently have fewer moms producing litters. Several have retired or will be retiring soon, and I’m not sure how many litters we’ll have this year. I don’t feel right taking additional fees until I know more about upcoming puppies.

How to stay informed

Once you reach out and ask to be added to the interest list, the next step is to sign up for email notifications on our website. On the front page (top right, under the puppy album), you’ll find a spot to subscribe. This will ensure you get all news and announcements.

When a litter is announced

Anyone can let me know they’re interested, but families who previously paid to join the waitlist will get first choice until the puppies are three weeks old. After that, new applicants are welcome to be added to the match list. Recently, we’ve had available puppies because only one or two people (or sometimes none) from the list reach out when a litter is posted.

Puppy matching

We typically match puppies at around five weeks old, when we have a better sense of their personalities, coat type, size, and other traits. This helps us match the right puppy with the right family.

If anything is confusing or if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to hear from you!
