Rosie update

You guys have all been so kind and supportive of Rosie I thought you would all like an update.

Rosie is doing well. The first couple of days were the hardest after she really “woke up” from the anesthesia. The surgery was pretty intense (she was spayed also) and then to wake up to no babies and hearing the other moms with their babies was hard. (Unfortunately, she had no other choice but to be in the same room as them. Our house is small).

Her appetite is still not back to normal (Rosie loves food!). But that may be the heavy-duty antibiotics she’s on. She is taking her meds like a good girl. And we’ve been able to stop using the things we gave her to calm her down those first few days.

(Cheese face after taking her pill)

She definitely needs a bath (stinky girl!). But that’s not her fault. Since she delivered early, I hadn’t given her her pre-delivery beauty treatment yet. And the surgery was pretty messy. Then after surgery they don’t want you bathing them for a couple of weeks because of the incision (although the tech told me how I could carefully bathe her without hurting the incision. I just thought I’d give her a few days to heal first.) And the incision looks good. She’s mostly been resting. Although this morning on one of her trips outside to potty, she stopped to roll in the snow and her tail was wagging!

Dogs are amazing creatures! Rosie sends kisses to you all!
