Well, the day was planned out as usual. Sunday I would get up early, feed the babies. Then head out a bit earlier than usual because of possible winter road conditions. (Thankfully once I got into town the roads were good. It was only out our way that the roads were a bit sketch).

We would get to Spokane around 10 am so I had time to let puppies out to potty and then put them back in their crate with a snack so I could meet the puppy parents at 10:30.

About an hour from home, I received a message from one of the adopters that their flight out of Seattle was late and instead of arriving in time for our 10:30 meeting they wouldn’t get there until 12:30.
A bit later I was chatting with my hubby on the phone (don’t worry it is connected to my speakers and I can talk without taking my eyes off the road). He mentioned someone had called and they flight was late. I assumed it was the person I had just gotten the text from, but when we compared names, it was a different person. Hubby looked at the applications with my notes on them (that I’d accidentally left on the kitchen table) and noticed another person who was flying out of the same area.
A short time later I got a call from the third person who was also on the same Seattle flight to Spokane letting me know they would be late also. Well, at least they were all on the same flight.
And they all were scheduled on the same return flight around 1:30. But now they were coming in at 12:30 (and usually you have to check in an hour before your flight!) S0 that didn’t leave us any time.
I was able to let them all know to head to the Alaska check-in as soon as they deplaned and I’d meet them all there.
So my 10:30 puppy meeting ended up with just two families but we had a great meeting going over paperwork, answering questions and taking pictures.

Cheetos

Pringles

During that meeting I received another text from one of the other families that the flight was delayed again! Now the plane wouldn’t be landing in Spokane until around 1:30. So they all had to rebook their return flights. I think they all got separate flights back around 3:00, 5:30 and 8-something. I felt so bad especially for Doritos mom who had such a late return flight to Seattle. And still had to fly back to Vancouver from there!
My original plan was to head to my kids’ house when the puppy meeting was over to pick up their dog that we’d be babysitting over Christmas. Since the plan was changed and I wanted to make sure I was at the airport on time, my son brought his dog to me.

I headed over to the terminal early enough that I could let the puppies out again to potty and stretch their legs. The had food and water available too.

Now how was I going to get three puppies into the terminal, along with three puppy bags? Since that wasn’t the original plan, I had not brought my soft carrier. All I had was the wire crate that the puppies road in. I looked around and found a large, insulated bag. That would work!

It was a bit trickier keeping three wiggly puppies in a bag. I tried siting on a chair in the terminal to wait but they wanted to all crawl out. So it worked better if I stood up and held the bag.

Thankfully, the wait wasn’t terribly long before, one-by-one, the other puppy parents arrived.

Fritos

Ruffles.
So even though the day didn’t go as planned we made it work!
And the grand-dog got a special treat on the way home. 😉

And the sky on the drive home was pretty gorgeous to boot!

Happy life, puppies!
What a busy, crazy day! Good job!
I had the easy part! Good job for all those puppy parents👏👏👏
Lucky people who got these pups! This was the cutest litter ever. I even hate to see them go 😢.
