Each new litter is such a blessing and so much fun!

Usually I don’t do individual pictures until the puppies are older and their eyes are open. But the other morning, they were sleeping so sweetly and mom was outside on a potty break, that I couldn’t help myself. So I scooped them up quickly and snapped some pictures on the soft blanket.

And, I usually save this for later, but I already have names for them!

Since it’s wintertime and Winter is the mom, the theme was pretty easy.

We will add collars later. At this point, I can tell them all apart. The two merle males have different markings. And since the blenheim are different genders, that’s easy. And the black and white needs no explanation. 😉

They are all doing amazing and gaining weight steadily. This is such a blessing when a new mom has a safe, successful delivery, puppies are born at a good weight and start gaining steadily, and she knows how to clean and mother them properly. Trust me, not all moms do!

Which makes things a lot easier for me especially with the busy weekend ahead. Not only are we celebrating Christmas with the family but we have lots of out of town guests coming as we celebrate the lives of my in-laws this weekend at their memorial service.
