And they’re off!

Saturday night before bed all the pups got baths. Then they were tucked into bed early as we had and extra early morning coming.

Look at the curls!(No, the Dawn is not for the puppies)

Since we are about two hours and twenty minutes from the airport (where we meet our puppy families), I have to get up extra early to make sure the puppies get breakfast. Because either way you leave the house, the road is windy. I want the puppies’ breakfast to settle in their stomach before we hit the road. Even then, occasionally someone will get a bit carsick.

Then I hurry to let the adults out to potty, let the big dogs out, feed the horses and chickens and get myself ready. I try to have the truck packed the night before with all supplies and puppy packets, litter box and crate so there’s less to worry about in the morning.

I give the pups a chance for one more potty break, before loading them in the truck and heading towards Spokane.

Well, I wasn’t expecting snow this morning, although I guess it was in the forecast :/

I always plan to get there ahead of our puppy parents so I can get organized. And let the puppies run around the bed of the truck to get some wiggles out and use the litter box. Before everyone arrives, the pups go back in their crate and have “brunch”. Since they had an extra early breakfast, by this time they are ready for another meal.

And if the puppies are out of sight, I have the attention of my families to go over puppy paperwork and instructions. I know, once the puppies come out and meet their families, the families won’t hear a word I say! lol

It was cloudy in Spokane but no precipitation….until about the time everyone was supposed to meet in the parking lot. Thankfully, the hotel people are super nice and let us congregate in their dining area to have our puppy meeting. (The hotel was really vacant today so we weren’t in anybody’s way.)

After the families receive their precious pup and we get family pictures, they have a chance to let the pups run around the truck and go potty one last time  before everyone heads their separate directions.

It’s always a fun day (although a bit cold and snowy today)!

Frost (new name to be chosen later)

Blizzard, now Poncho

Flurry now Luca

Snowflake now Meringue (and doesn’t she look like a fluffy cloud of meringue!)

Storm now D’Artagnan or D’Art for short (think Three Muskateers)

Happy life puppies!❤️
