Fly away!

Well, we said farewell to another deserving retiree last weekend. She’s off to a life of adventure, fun and comfort with her new mom.

They seemed to hit it off right from the start and Raven just leaned into her new mom for attention and cuddles. And she gave her the dog kiss of approval!

Her mom flew across the state and rented a car to drive here to get her. We spent a couple hours visiting and hanging out with Raven. Then they buckled up and drove back to the airport and flew home. I was a bit concerned as it started to snow again as they left and it was Raven’s first experience in a small, soft carrier and flying on an airplane. I asked her to let me know when they arrived safe at home.

I received an update later that night.

“We are home! She did so well on the plane. I absolutely adore her, thank you so much!”

I just feel so thankful that my adults (providentially I think) get such amazing retirement homes <3

And another update from yesterday!

“She’s been so brave! She has a favorite toy already and wants all the cuddles. Getting used to scary car sounds. (The disadvantage of growing up in the mountains away from traffic) We’re currently double leashing on our walks but have a double clip for a single leash coming in the mail tomorrow. She’s such a little love bug ”
