A visit

I ran to town yesterday to pick up a few groceries and decided to stop and see a friend that I hadn’t seen in a long time. This is the home where Lucy retired to.

I don’t like to visit a retired dog in its new home right away since it might be confusing to the dog. But I was way overdue to visit my friend and Lucy.

When I walked in the door, Lucy wiggled and waggled her excited little body, but then she ran and jumped in her mom’s lap. They are very bonded and she wasn’t sure about this “visitor”.

I sat on the couch and we started to visit and chat. Lucy stayed with her mom. But slowly recognition kicked in and I think she finally realized it was me! She jumped onto the chair next to the couch to get a little closer as I talked to her. Then she hopped down and bounced onto the couch next to me. “Hi, mom!”

She got a lot of rubbing, scratching and loving while I was visiting with her mom. And she leaned in and really enjoyed getting attention from her “old” mom.

My friend and I had a great visit and it was amazing to see Lucy again and how bonded she is with her new mom. <3
