Casanova is learning to play by himself. Although he loves when I get in the play area with him and interact with him. But I’m also letting him hang out by himself for a bit while I work in the puppy room. He’s “on his own” but I’m right there. This is a good way to get your puppy used to their puppy area. They’ll fuss and not like being in their pen. But as they see you moving around or leaving the room and coming back again, they’ll learn that things are okay and you’re not going away forever.

I’ve introduced him to his little cousins (Cami’s) but he was so enthusiastic that I scooped him up fairly quickly. I didn’t want to overwhelm the littles. But hopefully by the end of next week they’ll be a bit sturdier, more sure of themselves and we’ll reintroduce them. Casanova was so excited to meet them. That way he’ll have some interactions with other puppies before he goes home.
In the meantime, I’m happy to play with him and teach him the ropes of puppyhood. Although with his mom, aunties and the big dogs. 😉
