Seriously on Sunday, it got that hot! We normally have a few days of 100° weather, but it’s usually in August. This July has been exceptionally warm for our area.

So we work outside in the morning in the garden, tending animals (or as hubby has been doing; working on the parent’s house roof) and then we come inside. And mid-afternoon when the temp hits the highest, I go back outside to make sure the rabbit and chickens has fresh, cool water. Then go to the dog house and check on the dogs in there. Unfortunately, hubby tells me he didn’t wire it out there for an a/c unit, so we have several fans going. Then when it cools down outside, one in the window draws in the cool evening air. The dogs nap and stay still in the hotter part of the day thankfully.
They go outside again later when the temperature finally starts to drop. And then they go to bed later than usual so they can enjoy the cooler temps outside as long as possible.
And since Ben is old and still very hairy, I’ve been coaxing him inside the house. I’m worried about him and the heat in his old age. Saturday he slept and barely moved until about 9:00 at night. Then finally decided to go back outside.
(Please excuse the mess. Son is packing to move and going through things).
The Cavalier puppies go outside in the mornings to potty and play, then usually come in late morning. And like the adults, stay inside until nighttime when it starts to cool down. Then they go outside before bed to potty and get the zoomies out!

Thankfully, I see the weather is supposed to cool down towards the end of the week. I can’t wait!
