Once the puppies move upstairs to the puppy room, I like to set up a new play area for them right outside their puppy pen. I add a couple litter boxes and start small. We want to set them up for success! As they get more accurate with the litter box usage (yes, they still have accidents), then I will enlarge their play area. By the time they turn seven to eight weeks old, they are using about half the room for a play space.

And since these pups are still pretty little and not super adventurous yet, I have not introduced them to the ramp in and out of their puppy pen. When they are first learning, I always use our big snake stuffed animal (Snuggles, the snake) under the ramp in case they tumbled off the ramp. But they’re not quite ready for that yet.

But they had fun playing in their new little area and snuggling with Snuggles!
