Day to day

Well, since there is not a lot going on around here and no puppies to share, we’re just hanging out with the adults and trying to get winter projects done!

The dogs and I are enjoying our mid-day break outside. This week we’ve even seen the sun a few times!

But first I make sure the gate is tightly secured and the ones at across the bottom. Lyric does like to escape when she can and go exploring further.

I love watching the dogs run around the big yard exploring, sniffing and just enjoying life.

We do have a big fenced-in back yard and two dog yards (one for the boys and one for the girls) just off the dog house building but I love that they can get out in the front yard. There’s a ton of room and so many things to see and smell.

They love watching the chickens and the rabbit in the chicken pen. Indy is obsessed and wants to chase, catch and probably eat the rabbit. Sorry, if that’s offensive, but she is a dog and seems to have a pretty high prey drive. Good thing the little critters are in their own fenced yard!

And they love sniffing around the barn and exploring every nook and cranny. The barn is the cats home so I’m sure the dogs smell the kitties and their food out there. Thankfully none of the dogs can climb the big hay bales where the cat’s food is stored.

And do you see what the yard looks like? Just a few little crunchy, old piles of dirty snow. It’s been the weirdest winter here. It looks more like March when the winter snow is going away.

I hear there’s a big polar vortex hitting the U.S. soon. I think we’re just on the outer edge (by the updates I’ve seen) so I think we’re still not going to get hit with the bad weather and super low temps like some other areas.

Stay safe everyone!
