Yesterday Shiloh’s Cavapoo puppies went to the vet for their check-ups. It’s always a long day for puppies but they had an extra “challenge”? yesterday.
We had to leave about 12:45 to make our 2:00 appointment. Yes, we are that far away from our vet. But when you find a vet that you love and have an established relationship, it’s worth the drive.
Since the pups ate lunch just after noon, had a potty break, then loaded up for the trip, I did have one pup get a bit car sick and lose their lunch. Unfortunately, the road from our house to the vet is a windy one at the start.

Once we safely arrived, I put all the puppies in the back of the truck for a potty break. So thankful for the truck canopy and litter boxes! It’s like a built-in safe place for puppies to potty and stretch their legs on town trips.

I checked in at the front desk and they let me know they were running behind because the vet had an emergency come in. But shortly after they came back to take us inside and get us settled in an exam room.

This wagon is coming in handy!
Then I put the crate on the table and the tech and I started weighing each puppy so at least that was done when the vet came in.

Then we waited.

And waited.

And waited.

They were all so patient and good. No whining. No fussing. They just snuggled in together and went to sleep.
I don’t mind waiting for forty-five minutes when puppies are this good and quiet and there’s air conditioning. *wink
Finally the doctor was able to come in and start exams. The puppies were model patients as usual.
First it was Dahlia’s turn.

Then came Cosmos.

Then I got Aster out.

Then it was Oly’s turn.

Then came Yarrow.

Then Chrys.

And lastly Peony had her exam.

Now we’re loaded back up and ready to pay our bill.

And then we had some special visitors waiting for us back at the truck. (Sorry, I didn’t get pictures). I had a family visiting the area that wanted to meet Chrys. It worked out since I was in town with the puppies to meet me here. It didn’t take long for them to decide to add Chrys to their family! I’ll be meeting them again on Sunday to officially hand him over.
Then the pups were loaded back in the crates for the drive home. We arrived home around five and just in time for dinner and some playtime!

(half brother Legend, visiting)
They were such great puppies! Half a day with travel, crate time, two potty breaks and the exams. I give them all an A+ for the day!
