Road trip!

Our oldest two just celebrated their birthday. And since one lives near Spokane and the other one does travel work we usually spend it with the nearer one. This year our DIL invited us to surprise the “traveler” and come spend his birthday with him.

So we made plans. Then a storm blew into WA and closed the passes so we had to cancel. But by the next day the passes had opened and the weather was much improved. So we repacked out bags and set out!

(And for those wondering, dear Reba is still doing well considering her age and was left in the capable hands of my sis-in-law/neighbor, along with the other critters).

For those who don’t know our three boys (and their families) are spread from east to west, thankfully all now in Washington state!

We spent Saturday through Tuesday morning with one birthday boy (and his younger brother and wife joined us on Sunday), the drove halfway across the state Tuesday to stay with the youngest and his wife. Wednesday we drove the rest of the way to the east side to surprise the second birthday boy and join a belated dinner with him and his family and in-laws (who we’ve become great friends with).

Before leaving the west side we also made a short stop in Seattle to visit some dear friends who call themselves the “Pinewood Retirement Home”. They bought a Cavalier puppy from us many years ago and have ,over the years adopted several of our retiring Cavalier moms! The dogs have the best life with them.

I was excited to visit them and to see my sweet girls again; Rosie, Joy and Glory!

It was a wonderful few days of visiting family, friends and pets (my grand-dog and grand-kitties) along with the Cavaliers and seeing some beauties sights along the way. But it’s always nice to come back to our quiet, country home!❤️
