Well, since my “retirement” post I’ve had several people reach out with interest in our retirees. Happy day!
Just for an update thought, we haven’t placed anyone yet. All the dogs will need to have vet appointments (check-ups, spay, dentals, etc) and grooms before they will go to new homes. So as you imagine it’s a process and one that doesn’t happen overnight. Plus I want to make the best match for each dog so that I think it ends up in the best situation for that particular dog.
So if you’ve reached out with interest or are planning on it, please be patient with the process as we do this next step. It’s going to take a while to work through making appointments, giving the girls time to heal from spays, and making sure we’re matching the right family with the right dog. (And if you’ve reached out and haven’t heard from me, please email me again. Sometimes emails get “lost” in the list I’m working through).
And I’ve gotten a lot of nice well wishes, emails and messages from past puppy people so I thought i’d go ahead a share some of those on the blog. (You haven’t seen the last of me yet as I’ll still be posting updates that I receive and what’s going on with our retirees!)
“Dear Jennifer! How are you? Hope all is well with you.
Blaze turned one year old today! He is healthy and weighs 21 lbs.
We took him to Portland last Christmas, so he experienced his second flight (he looked quite cramped in the carrier
). We still feel sad when we think about his mom, Sasha, but she would have been so happy to know he turned one today.
We take him everywhere — to our son’s soccer games, running, hiking, and more. He has such a wonderful temperament and is incredibly patient. Many of our neighbors adore him! He even sits quietly with us while we work.
We are truly happy to have him in our lives. As first-time dog owners, we are still learning many things, but my husband has even learned how to trim his hair. We are very grateful for your guidance and for bringing this wonderful soul into our lives.
PS Do you remember the green toy you gave him? He still loves it :)”
