He’s here!

Remember the post I wrote called “Friends”? Well, I have a follow up on that situation.

As I mentioned , my good friend agreed to go to the airport at midnight to pick up my new male Poodle. Then I would pick him up at her house in the morning and head to my 1:00 vet appointment on my way home.

Well, the vet’s office called Tuesday morning and said they needed to bump my appointment up to 10:00am. *sigh

So option number one was to stick with plan “A”; having my friend get him as planned. But then I would have to leave my house at 5:30am to give me enough time to get to her house, then back to the vet. That would get me home a bit before noon, which wouldn’t work because I had morning chores (dogs, puppies and horses) that couldn’t wait that long.

Option two (which I chose) was to meet my friend at the airport then head back home, get a little sleep, up for chores and off to the vet appointment.

You might be wondering at this point why my friend still had to go to the airport and I couldn’t just get the dog myself? Well, since she was planning on picking him up, we had put her information on the shipping label. The airline requires a photo i.d. to release the dog. And our names don’t sound or spell the same 😉

So to shorten a long story, #2 son and I left home around 9 pm and got back home about 2:15am.

I did meet my friend at the airport, but I actually got there ahead of her, the dog’s flight arrived earlier then expected and they released him to me because my name was on the shipping tag on the crate!

As they say, “All’s well that ends well”.

Here’s a picture his “mom” sent to me of him riding to the airport.

His name is Eli, but that may change. His registered name includes his call name but it also includes a name that I don’t want to be associated with. (Sorry, not putting the details in print).

He is a year old, AKC registered, vet checked healthy, 11″ tall, 8.8lbs and a beautiful grey and white parti!

He’s seems to have a sweet, steady temperament and already getting to know the other dogs (Reba thinks he’s oh, so handsome!)

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!
