Today Marie and I went on some more puppy adventures. Well, it was an adventure if you’re a little puppy.
I had to mail a package so we made a run to our little local post office.
Marie went in with me and wagged her tail at the two ladies the whole time we were doing our transaction.
Then we hopped back in the truck and headed up the road in the opposite direction. Marie has ridden in the truck a few times; sometimes in a wire crate, sometimes in this soft carrier and today we also tried a while just loose on the seat next to me. I know the safest way to travel with your pet is in an enclosed carrier or attached to a safety belt. But I know most of us like to just jump in the car with our dog and make little jaunts. So I like my dogs to learn how to ride free also; learning how to sit quietly on the seat and not get in the way of my driving. Marie was an angel!
We headed up the road passed our place about twenty minutes to our favorite little family orchard to get some fresh picked cherries. Yum!
The owner’s granddaughter was helping in the fruit stand and asked to hold Marie. She had a hard time letting her go when it was time for us to leave. She wanted to know if I would trade some cherries for Marie. π
On the way home, I thought it would be nice to introduce Marie to the mighty Columbia River.
Don’t you feel sorry for me? I have such a awful drive home. π
We stopped at our little local picnic campground right next to the river. Marie had fun exploring along the shoreline. She had no problem walking right into the water as it lapped at her feet.
Stay tuned for more adventures with Marie. π
