With any of our blue-eyed or merle Poodles (Sky, Lucy, hopefully Lyric someday) there is a possibility of having blue-eyed or partial blue eyes in their puppies.
It looks like a couple of Sky’s pups might just turn out that way.
This is Queso (yellow ribbon female) from Sky’s litter. It looks like she will have partial blue eyes on both sides (partial meaning part brown, part blue).
This is Chip (green ribbon male). His was a little harder to tell, but I think his right eye may be blue or partially blue.
Both Taco and Salsa are leaning towards brown eyes. Anyway they turn out, blue or brown, these are gorgeous puppies!
And doing well! On Tuesday they turned four weeks old. Their weights are as follows; Taco; 2# 11 oz, Chip; 2# 9 oz, Queso; 2 # 1 oz, Salsa; 2# 3 oz.
They girls are a bit smaller as you can see by the weights and have been since birth. I’m estimating they will end up smaller as adults. But I won’t have an estimated adult weight until they get a bit older. But I can see for instance that Queso is built more petite with smaller bone structure than either of her brothers.
They did great with their toenail trims and got their first dose of puppy de-wormer which they weren’t thrilled with, but we followed it with a cheese chaser to make it go down easier. 😉
Some of the group are already checking out mom’s food dish, so I have started soaking the puppy food in case they want to nibble on it. Pretty soon they will be more interactive and playful and learning all kinds of new things!
