They’re still little but they’re growing up, and still so stinkin’ adorable. Yep, Lyric’s pups are five weeks old today.

Blanche (1# 12 oz)

Sophia (1# 13 oz)

Rose (1# 11 oz)

Dorothy (1# 14 oz)

They are still projected to mature on the smaller end of our average Cavapoo sizes. Of course that just my guess. Some pups of other litters, that I thought were going to stay smaller surprised me and surpassed my guess. And some that I thought would get a certain size have ended up smaller. You just never know. We should have a petty estimate by the time they hit eight weeks as there’s a “formula” we can use at eight weeks to predict adult weight.

Sophia is definitely the leader of the pack and always is happy to come to the door when I open it. Stan is pretty adventurous too. I would say Rose and Blanche are next in line and Dorothy seems to be our quietest girl that sits back and observes things before joining in.

I still have them downstairs in the small puppy pen because they “fit” that size. But soon we’ll probably moved them upstairs so we can get them introduced to a crate and a bigger play area. For now, I like having them close by. Lyric likes to get out and explore outside more than most moms, so having her downstairs is more convenient for that too.

I have rescheduled their vet appointment so that means I decided to go ahead and keep them longer. So they will be going home on Sunday, March 6th and we will be matching them along with Sage’s F1b Cavapoos on Sunday, February 6th. I will post the most current list of names later this week with everyone (in order) that I have interested in Lyric and/or Sage’s pup for matching day next Sunday. Remember if you are interested in potentially being matched with one of Lyric’s or Sage’s puppies I need to hear from you by Friday at noon.

They hung out with Aunt Hope, Aunt Joy and Aunt Reba while they mom was on break today. It’s good for puppies to be introduced to other friendly dogs during their socialization period. These girls are both great at puppy socializing.
