Just a reminder to those on our waiting list who hope to be matched with a puppy in the future on how the payment process goes once you are matched with a puppy.
Once you are matched with a puppy on puppy matching day I will send out a group email to all the families that have been matched with a puppy with specific instructions and dates.
If you want me to hold that specific puppy for you, then I need a deposit sent right after you get that email. The deposit is supposed to be to me within five days of you being matched with a puppy.
The balance for your puppy is due on a specific date, depending on the age of the puppy when it goes home. Normally we match a litter at round five weeks of age. Puppies go home around eight weeks of age. The balance is due by the time the pups turn seven weeks old or on the specific date I give you in the email.
The only other options are to send the whole amount with the deposit or to bring the balance in cash at pick-up. You cannot bring a check at pick-up.
I need time to get your check in the bank and cleared before you take your puppy home. It’s a seventy mile round-trip to town and only go to town maybe once a week. If you send your check late, (let’s say the week the puppy goes home) I may not have time to get it deposited before puppy pick-up day.
Also, when we match you with a puppy we talk about a health certificate (you’ll need one if you’re out of state) and whether you want us to microchip your puppy or have your vet do it. Sometimes veterinarians will offer a “puppy package” where they will include the puppy vaccinations and the microchip. So I suggest people call their vet to see if that is included and let me know which direction they want to go. The sooner you get back to me with a “yes” or “no” if we are doing the microchip the easier it is for me.
I try really hard to give clear instructions and also provide a lot of helpful information about the process on our website. And I work hard to keep my paperwork and notes organized. I also have to email my vet ahead of the appointment with all the information for those puppies getting health certificates. And I type up a health sheet that my vet will fill out for each puppy at their appointment ahead of time. So it’s so much easier if I have all your info sooner rather than later (if we’re doing the microchip or not, address, phone number, zip code, who is picking up puppy, if they’re flying or driving etc).
So the more you can work with me and get things to me on time the easier it is for me. And the less time I have to spend contacting people for things I need which could be spent on working with the puppies.
I hope that clarifies the process and thanks for reading and joining us on this journey!
And just a reminder, we will be matching Sky’s puppies this coming Sunday. If you are on our main Cavapoo waiting list and interested in being added to the list for calls on Sunday and the possibility of being matched with a puppy, please email me before Friday at noon to be added to that list. Unfortunately the delivery day doesn’t work for everyone as these pups are scheduled to go home on April 17th (Easter). But we already have their vet appointment scheduled for a few days before they leave and it’s the perfect age for them to go home.
This is the list of interested people I currently have. They have been placed in the order that they are on the main list and the order I will be contacting them.
