She passed!

Thursday was our last class day. Or actually it was testing day. We basically went through the exercises that we’d been practicing to see if each dog was competent and steady in each exercise. If so, they passed and earned their AKC Community CGC! In fact, all of the dogs passed in this class. They did so well.

The test was held at one of our local retirement centers in town. (I’ve covered up faces for privacy of the residents and staff.)

We practiced some basics outside when we first arrived to get the dogs warmed up.

Then we headed inside for the testing.

In case anyone was wondering what exercise the dogs are required to do here is a picture of the test sheet. The bottom contains some extra exercises which are not required but great practice. Our instructor included some of these during the test also.

And a group picture. One dog did not make it to the testing and two and already left. But we had seven total and five were German Shepherds. And the two “other” breeds, an Aussie and a Lab both had the same name!

Then I stopped to grab some things at the store and decided Cajsa needed a treat after her “graduation”.

And then I grabbed something for the family to have for our late lunch. And Cajsa had to practice “leave it” on the way home.
