Apparently I can’t count….

You see, I use an Erin Condren planner to keep track of my life and especially anything related to the dogs.

It has a two page spread of each month which makes it easy to see the whole month at a glance to plan things.

So with each litter, I write on the day they were born the mother’s name and the number of pups.

Then on each following week on the day of the week that the litter arrived I write; “Winter 1 wk”, “Winter 2 wks”etc out til eight weeks. The Sunday following when the pups turn eight weeks will be Puppy Delivery Day. Then I can write in Puppy Matching Day and also schedule their puppy well visit at the vet and other important things along the way.

So in August I wrote as usual “Winter 5 wks” (on August 6th), “Winter 6 wks” (on August 13th), “Winter 7 wks” (on August 20th), “Winter 8 wks” (on August 27th). Then I flipped the page to September 7th and wrote “Winter pups go home”.

But I missed this litter tiny detail in August…

Um, yeah, the going home date should’ve been August 31st.

But we can’t change the date now as we already have plans lined up with the puppies that have been matched so far. So I get to enjoy this batch for an extra week. And hopefully with the extra time we will find amazing homes for our last boy!
