We are safe

There are three fire raging around our little reservation town. We are several miles north of town but the closest to us was sure sharing some of it’s smoke over the mountain range behind us. It looked close enough and threatening enough to make us get organized in case we had to evacuate. Thankfully we are still at home. I’ve been trying to convince hubby that we needed a bigger horse trailer for such emergencies. Thankfully, I finally twisted his arm hard enough and we picked this up in the spring.

Our power went out yesterday morning as stated in my last blog and is estimated to be restored in a couple days. The windstorm that came through Eastern Washington and Idaho knocked power out to thousands of homes and businesses and started multiple fires with downed power lines. Thankfully, we recently invested in a good generator, but hubby only wants to run it part of each day to conserve fuel. 😉

With that in mind, you probably won’t hear much from me this week. The dogs and puppies are all well. Oakley’s babies have their vet check-up today and we’ll also be busy getting them ready to leave this coming Sunday.

For my praying friends, please keep our little town, the residents, the firefighters and power guys working hard to restore power in your prayers. (I know there are fire all around WA, OR & CA that we could include in our prayers!) The fire has taken out several home from what I’ve heard. One belonged to an elderly couple from our church. Thankfully, they were able to get out in time. The resources are limited and they’ve had no air support yet because of the wind and weather. It was just a small group on the ground going from home to home yesterday putting out fires and trying to save structures. (My “baby” was one; yes proud and worried mama here)

As mentioned thing are a bit unsettled and busy right now so please be patient if I don’t return messages right away or reply to comment on the blog or Facebook. If you need to reach me, email is probably the best way.

I will try to share puppy pics and news when I can 😀
