The town trip

The trip to the vet is always a long day for puppies since it’s over an hour drive away. I loaded the precious cargo up and headed out around 12:30 on Wednesday.

Once we arrived at the vet, I held off letting them go potty before their exam because it had been rainy and the bed was wet. I didn’t want to hand over wet puppies to the doctor. Thankfully the puppies waited patiently for their visit. First the girl crate went in and had their exams.

Then I let them out to stretch their legs and go potty. Autumn wasn’t sure if she wanted to get out of her cozy crate at first.

While the girls were having a break the boys had gone in for their check-up. Then it was back outside for their break (I didn’t get any pictures, sorry).

Then it was back in their crate and back in the truck where they were all offered water and had a late lunch.

We had to wait around for the paperwork and to pay our bill so we were at the vet for two hours. The pups were so good in their crates.

On the way home, I stopped in town (We have to drive through a couple towns from our house to the vet) and visited with a friend for a bit. The pups got a break in the back of the truck then too. Then we loaded up and stopped at Walmart while I ran in for a couple things I needed. They had some dinner while I shopped.

Finally we were on the road home. It had been a long day and the pups had behaved excellently. They only got a little fussy on the way home which was expected since I knew it was time for another potty break. They had some super crate practice.

I called hubby to let him know we were nearing home and to please help me quickly unload the babies so they could get “to the bathroom” which he did. The pups hit that potty box with a vengeance and did their jobs quickly!

They did great!
