Rearranging and resting

We did some rearranging in the living room and set up the small puppy pen for Lucy and there three curly-headed kids.

All ready for the little family.

I set them on the litter box as an intro.

Checking out their new bed.

After mom came back in from her break I covered the pen. When we have more than one mom with puppies in the same room sometimes they get upset if they see another dog walk by so this gives them some privacy and keeps the pups cozy and warm.

Then I cleaned out Lucy’s crate for Oakley (since it is a bit bigger) to give her and the Aussalier pups a bit more room.

And then I fixed up Oakley’s crate for Sky. Why Sky?

Well, Monday morning Sky woke up not feeling herself. In fact she didn’t want to go out side to potty with everyone. When they all came back in I picked her up to carry her outside and she bit me a couple times. That is so unlike her that I knew she must be in some kind of pain or discomfort.

Thankfully, my vet was able to squeeze us in for an exam that afternoon. After checking her over and running some tests she came to the conclusion it was a UTI (which I’ve heard can be very painful).

So she is hanging out in the living room convalescing. She’s feeling like her old self already now that the antibiotics and pain meds have kicked in.

I think in all my years of having dogs this is the first one we’ve had with a UTI.

Winter came to visit her mom.

“Please no pictures. I haven’t done my hair!”

Poor girl! There’s nothing fun about a UTI. Glad the antibiotics have kicked in. Great things that you recognized there was a problem early on and that your vet wasted no time in checking her out!

You give us all such a good model of how to be the best Mom for ALL your doggies.
