We will be reopening our Cavapoo waiting list and accepting applications again starting on January 1st! I thought with the Christmas fast approaching, our new litters coming soon, and Sasha’s pups having just left, that the rest of December will be extra busy. So New Year’s Day seemed like a great option for officially reopening your Cavapoo waiting list and start taking applications again!
We may only have it open a few days or we may leave it open depending on how many applications we receive. So the sooner you apply once the list reopens, the better in case we close it again. (But please do not send an application now. We will only accept them starting on the reopening date). The last time we reopened the list was October of 2020. We closed the list after only four days because the volume of applications we received.
A few things to know…..the biggest question most people have once they’ve gotten on the waiting list is “how long will I have to wait for a puppy?”
And that my friends, is the million dollar question which I cannot answer!
All I can do is give you an educated guess. Normally I would say the wait could be a few months to over a year depending on what color/gender you’re holding out for (the more specifics, the higher up the list you’ll need to be to pick that one especially if it’s a popular choice (e.g. red, female, small, with white on the face and paws).
But with that being said, we had eighty-some people on the list and only three reached out for our most popular colored (red/apricot) litter from Sasha and Asher (that just went home). So as some of you know we posted a special announcement, took some applications and two brand new people got matched with the two remaining puppies.
So that is why it is hard to give an estimate on how long you will wait for a puppy. I just never know what the response will be from the people on the waiting list. (Sometimes people are waiting for a certain color, gender or timeframe for a puppy.)
So once you get on the list, it’s your “job” to reach out each time we have a litter announced that you are interested in (and the puppy matching day and delivery day work for you). And we’ll put you on that litter’s list for possible matching on their specific matching day. You may get matched with the first litter you reach out about, but likely you’ll have to reach out about several litters and get on several lists before you are matched with a puppy. At least, that’s how things normally go.
When January 1st comes and you fill out our applications (there are a Part 1 and a Part 2 located under the “Puppy Info” heading (drop-down menu) on the website, please be as thorough as possible with your info (complete address) and answers. It helps with the puppy matching process and helping you pick the right puppy for your family situation. It’s very important to fill out and submit Part 1 & 2 consecutively. And if you can add your name somewhere on the Part 2 that is super helpful too.
Also please thoroughly read the referenced pages on our website that are mentioned on the application before completing, agreeing and submitting them. They are linked on this first page that everyone should read before applying. https://pinewoodcavapoos.com/puppy-info/adoption-info/
I have tried to consolidate all the important information on the above linked page to answer all your questions before you apply.
Again, we are not taking applications until January 1st, 2022.
Once you go through the application process and our accepted onto our waiting list, you are welcome to reach out to be added to any of our current litter lists for possible matching (Glory, and Sage and Lyric’s will be born by the time the list reopens).
