Introducing Bailey

Most of you know that about a month ago I lost my German Shepherd dog. She was one of two large dogs we keep on the farm. Living where we do, it’s imperative that we have at least two large dogs to keep the predators away from the farm animals and our small dogs and watch dogs for the home. Besides the devastation of losing my best dog friend, I also lost one of my valuable protectors.

So a couple weeks after Moriah was put down when my friend and neighbor called and wanted to go look at some Great Pyrenees puppies another neighbor had, the wheels in my head started spinning. Well, Ben (our remaining big dog; a Newfie/ Great Pyrenees cross) did need some back-up. And if we started with a puppy again, it needed time to grow up before it could do any guarding/patrolling. And the sooner the better I guess.

She’s not intended to be a replacement for Moriah. I think of her as Ben’s backup. 😉

So let me introduce our new farm guardian, Bailey. A purebred Great Pyrenees dog. She’s just a big marshmallow right now, but hopefully will grow up someday to be a big help.

 Silly puppy😊
