Important waiting list/application info

Hi there!

As many of you know we have decided to open our Cavapoo waiting list again tomorrow, October 12th (please do not send an application in tonight) so I wanted to share some important information for those that might be new to us (or if you’ve been around a while too).

I would advise you to start by reading this helpful page. https://pinewoodcavapoos.com/puppy-info/adoption-info/

In a nutshell, to get on our waiting list you must first fill out Part 1 & Part 2 of our Puppy adoption forms consecutively. To make things even easier on me, please add your name to one of the answer boxes on Page 2 also. (But if you forget your name please don’t send part 2 again. It just makes things more confusing). The reason for this is when you submit a form to me it comes into my email inbox. Part 1 comes as one email and Part 2 comes as another email. If I get thirty applications tomorrow, all the first parts come in one email and all the second parts as one email. Then I have to match them together in order to read all of your information in one place. You can see why filling Part 2 out right after Part 1 can help me match things up easier. (You will find the Puppy Adoption forms under the Puppy Info heading at the top of the page).

After you have filled out the applications and submitted them, please wait for my confirmation email before sending the $75 non-refundable application fee.

People are added to the list on a first come-first serve basis, but I need to approve your application before you may send the fee to get on. “Jumping the gun” so to speak does not get you on sooner. 😉

I will try to respond to your application as fast as I can, but realize our list has been closed for six months and I’m expecting to be bombarded with new applicants. Be patient. It will take me a while to go through them. If you haven’t heard back from me within 48 hours you may send an email reminder. (We take one 24 hour period off from doggie “business” Friday evening to Saturday evening so if you apply on a Friday you might not hear back from me until Sunday. And if I’m delivering puppies to their new owners on a particular Sunday you might not hear back from me until Monday).

I’m sure the number one question on everyone’s mind will be “how long will the wait be for a puppy?” That’s an expected question and a good one, but very hard to answer. All I can do is give you an educated guess.

One factor will be how many new people get on the list (ahead of you). The next crucial keys are what are you looking for? If you don’t care about color or gender I might guess it could be eight months to a year. If you’re looking for a red/apricot female (our most requested combo) then you might be waiting a year to a year and a half). A lot of times I find that people end up being matched with a puppy sooner rather than later on my guesstimate. Another factor to consider, many people “say” they are open to color and gender, but when the rubber meets the road they pass on available puppies and end up holding out for a red or apricot.

Once your application is approved, you have sent your fee and gotten the confirmation that you’ve been added to our main waiting list, then your “homework” begins. We do not contact you when we have available puppies, you need to contact us when you are interested in a certain litter. Here is a page that explains our matching process and what you need to do. It is long, but it’s important that you read and understand it. If you have questions please shoot me an email or give me a call.
